Description
This lakeside open-air public swimming bath, with its non-swimmer area and water fountains, is particularly suitable for children. The Strandbad Mythenquai on Lake Zurich opened back in 1922. Nowadays, it has a 250 meter (820 ft)-long sandy beach and a large grassy area for sunbathing. There are also diving platforms of three different heights (1, 3 & 5 meters/ approx. 3, 10 & 16 feet), table tennis tables, barbecue sites, and a restaurant serving healthy culinary delights from Hiltl. Reading material can also be borrowed free of charge from the book boxes supplied by the Pestalozzi Library.
The Strandbad Mythenquai is also home to the world’s first automatic rental depot for stand up paddle boards. A board can be released from its compartment via a touchscreen and rented for CHF 30 an hour (payment by credit card or cash). Other activities include yoga and Pilates workouts on the lawn and stand up paddling courses on the blue water organized by SupKultur.
