Description
The Kunsthaus Zug is home to the most important collection of Viennese Modernism outside of Austria with works by Egon Schiele and Gustav Klimt. The collection also focuses on artists from the Swiss Surrealism movement and creative artists from the Zug region. Due to a lack of space, the multifaceted collection is not on permanent display, but is presented in temporary theme-based exhibitions. Every year, four or five projects are devoted to contemporary and 20th century art.
With its “Collection Project”, the Kunsthaus Zug has entered into a long-standing cooperation with international artists. Artists such as Olafur Eliasson, Pavel Pepperstein Christoph Rütimann, Roman Signer or Richard Tuttle have already contributed to this innovative collection model. The idyllic garden, light rooms and charming bar offer visitors a special ambience while enjoying the artwork.
For children, school classes and families, the Kunsthaus Zug also offers a travel guide which invites to exciting art walks in Zug.
