Description
The Vallocaia, a small Italian restaurant on Hirschenplatz in the heart of Zurich’s Niederdorf quarter, is completely devoted to the Tuscan vineyard of the same name.
This homage is also visible in the decor, which, with its wooden paneling and unpretentious black-and-white photographs, replicates the typical rural style of Tuscany. It goes without saying that above all the cuisine is inspired by this Italian region: simple dishes, predominantly flavored with olive oil and fresh herbs. The meat from the region also plays an important role, which is why it features prominently on the menu – in the form of Ossobuco, Bistecca alla Fiorentina or cutlets.
