The Helvetia restaurant is situated at the end of the bridge at Stauffacher. The name says it all: besides Mediterranean classics, the menu features a choice of Swiss dishes created with a particular focus on quality. The meatloaf with mashed potatoes, for example, is renowned throughout the city, and the traditional Zürcher Geschnetzeltes is also a firm favorite.
The Helvetia restaurant, awarded 14 points by the Gault-Millau gourmet guide, can be found on the upper floor of the hotel of the same name. Located by the “Stauffacher” tram stop, the bar –affectionately known among the locals as the “Helvti” – on the ground floor of the protected building is a particularly popular meeting place.
