Description
Cochinchina was the name for South Vietnam when it was a French colony. With this name, the restaurant underscores the many French influences in Vietnamese cuisine that have remained until this day: baguettes, croissants, crêpes and coffee – all of which were introduced by the French – still feature heavily in Vietnamese food.
As a result, the dishes served at this attractive locale close to the multicultural Langstrasse have authentic Vietnamese flavors. The menu includes such dishes as Banh Xeo (giant crêpes with meat, vegetables or shrimps), mouthwatering summer rolls, Vietnamese spare ribs (Suon Nuon Xa), and spicy beef wrapped in mustard leaves known as Bo La Lot.
At the Co Chin Chin, it is worth ordering several dishes at the same time – as is customary in Vietnam – and placing them in the middle of the table to share. You will find that you simply cannot get enough of the many different aromas and flavors.
