Here in the former Grandhotel Bellevue, the locals meet to enjoy a drink or Italian culinary specialties in elegant surroundings.

In the summer, the inviting garden terrace entices with its beautiful view of the River Limmat and the Old Town. On Sundays, guests can start the day at the Terrasse with a lavish brunch.

The bar is reminiscent of an English gentleman’s club and with its snug nooks and crannies is perfect for private conversations. The bartenders are happy to give their recommendations, while a small but select menu offers tempting treats.

At the beginning of the 20th century, the Café de la Terrasse, as it was then known, was a popular meeting place among artists and intellectuals. The Dadaists, too, were regular guests here until – in a bid to support the café’s waiters who were on strike – they moved to the Café Odeon.
