“L’Amant” (The Lover) is a novel by the Vietnam-born French writer, Marguerite Duras. In Zurich, however, it is also the name of a restaurant in Sihlcity. Alluding to the person from whom it takes its name, the L’Amant skillfully reinterprets French classics and refines them with a generous dash of Asia.
The dishes, which have been specially designed for the restaurant, can be enjoyed in the casual setting of the brasserie, although those who prefer more private surroundings can reserve a table in the Blue Room. Here, too, the focus is on Franco-Asian dishes. The menu, which changes every month, treats guests to unexpected culinary combinations.
In the bar of the L’Amant, too, visitors embark on a mini trip around the world, taking in Indochina, Paris, or Reims, the capital of the Champagne wine-growing region. Here, new taste experiences are guaranteed.
